Personalmente, sono allergico a classifiche, gerarchie di ogni sorta, a tutte quelle cose che cercano di porre un ordine assoluto, dall’alto, nel caos e nella ricchezza informe del reale. Ma insomma, anche se la maggior parte non è come me e crede in Qix, ha davverso senso sconfessarlo, manco fosse l’esercizio di ricerca bug in un prodotto Microsoft? Qix è un gioco, non c’è nessun fine commerciale, né diretto né indiretto. I blog nella top 100 non ne ricavano benefici, se non una carezza al loro ego, il che è sempre una trappola pericolosa, tanto più che si esercita su un terreno molle, virtuale. Ciò non vuol dire che non ci si debba iscrivere a Qix. Può essere un gioco interessante, una prova tecnica dei meccanismi che regolano i blog italiani; a mio senso, di nessun valore, comunque, perché ricorda tanto l’audience di mamma Tv, un principio che è totalmente inapplicabile alla rivoluzione di senso apportata dai blog e dalla scrittura collaborativa, fatta di relazioni orizzontali. Numero di utenti o numero di link, a determinare il “canale” più autorevole; sempre numeri sono, pietre con presunzione di oggettività dall’alto in basso, proprio quel meccanismo viziato che ha spinto la gente a fare fonte per sé e per gli altri. Lo spiega bene De Biase nel post Passaparola, blog e capitale sociale. Ecco, ch eme ne faccio io del primo posto in classifica di Beppe Grillo? Significa qualcosa per me? Meno della classifica dei film più visti al cinema, perché per me è comunque più autorevole De Biase, che conosco, so come la pensa, scrive di cose che mi interessano. E ora smettiamola di perderci in classifiche e andiamo a mare.

La navigazione fondamentale tra i blog è quella che segue i link proposti da coloro che conosciamo, stimiamo e nei quali nutriamo fiducia. Insomma, è la navigazione orizzontale quella che conta. La gerarchia di una classifica può semplicemente incuriosire: ci segnala possibilità diverse. Se il criterio del numero di link su technorati ci interessa, ci induce ad andare a vedere che cosa fa chi ne ha molti. Ma i criteri di questo tipo possono essere molti: nicchie di interessi, aggregazioni causali, ricerche per parole chiave… Persino se esistesse una classifica del numero di pagine scaricate sui diversi blog sarebbe di poco conto: in fondo, anche il più visitato blog del mondo non può che avere una piccolissima percentuale delle pagine viste sui 20 milioni di blog attivi che ci sono in giro… La vera storia dei blog è orizzontale, secondo me.
Sono d’accordo in linea di massima, ma aggiungerei un dettaglio che completa la mia opinione.
E’ stupido vedere le classifiche, quando non è possibile avere dati “universalmente oggettivi” (i.e. la classifica delle città più calde al mondo), come un tentativo di essere IL riferimento di qualcosa.
Per me, una classifica non significa dire “qual è il blog più linkato fra gli italiani?” (che già sarebbe una comprensione maggiore di “classifica dei blog italiani”), ma significa “secondo tale criterio di valutazione, qual è il rank raggiunto?”.
Il punto di vista è quasi opposto e diventa soggettivo rispetto all’algoritmo utilizzato e non oggettivo.
Ovvero: esattamente come le cose stanno.
